In a bizarre partnership that challenges usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Uncovered

According to the authorized release, "An unusual meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret sect.

The mission concentrates on "strange trials and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Changes

The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Update

This release also introduces the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
