The British player made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slams during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of her remaining competitions in 2025 because of the illness that has affected her over the past 10 days.

At 22 years old was due to play in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations will include her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together again next season.

She required blood pressure checks during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when behind 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was far from freely in the final set in the match with Zhu due to a lower back issue that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
