Ex- Physician Faces Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for committing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
