Previous BBC Consultants Participate in MPs' Inquiry Following Assertions of Partiality in Disclosed Document

Former BBC advisers speaking in front of Members of Parliament

We start with questions from Conservative MP the panel's head, that chairs the committee.

She initiates by providing context to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and printed in a daily publication.

"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting this way or that way, My only wish is for it straight, unbiased and equitable," he says.

When asked whether he thinks the BBC is institutionally biased, he answers: "No I don't. It is important to note, tons of stuff the BBC produces is exceptional - both factual and entertainment shows."

But he adds: "There is real work that must be undertaken at the BBC."

Another former external BBC adviser questioned by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she views the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it maintains a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" regarding evolving and intricate topics.

"Did the BBC prepared to engage in a genuine conversation and argument and implement changes?" she asks herself. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
