The Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Showdown Against the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

Springer previously helped the Houston Astros claiming the World Series in 2017.

Toronto's Blue Jays reached their first World Series since 1993 by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the final Game 7 of the ALCS.

Behind 3-1, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run blast in the seventh frame, leading the sole Canadian team in MLB to a four games to three triumph in the series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, who are the defending champions, in the upcoming championship.

"I'm thrilled for our team, Toronto, the nation," said Springer, an integral part of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 title. "It's truly an amazing experience."

George Springer has now connected for 23 total post-season home runs, making him third on the list trailing only Manny Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"I can't think of anyone else on planet Earth that I'd prefer in that spot except for Springer with his October magic," noted Schneider.

Seattle's team, who had led the series 2-0 and 3-2, are still the one club that has never reached in a Fall Classic.

Manager Dan Wilson said "there's no question that it's painful" following his club's elimination at their home ballpark, but applauded their work this season.

"It's a special team. It's a shame that we finished on the unsuccessful side of this game," he continued.

Toronto won the World Series on their two prior appearances in the early 90s, and are set to host the Dodgers in the opener on Friday.
