The Perfect Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Zodiac Sign
This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm within the fandom. Starting with the gradual unveiling of fresh additions before the title's release, to trainers developing firm opinions on the entire roster of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
Given many of the Mega Evolutions boasting distinctive appearances that emphasize their traits, one thought naturally: What's the best way to connect this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a mix of vibes, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as always angry, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, known for being playful, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes the Ram much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when angered. Remain on the good side of either and enjoy a powerful ally; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Bull, the steadfast Heracross, both in its regular and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the creature and a Bull are also battle-oriented, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their position unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed passion for treats. Many past Pokédex entries note their craving for sweet sap and how it uses its horn to collect it all, which is pure Taurus energy.
Gemini – Mega Medicham
Look at this total queen. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, providing an endless stream of gossip to anyone who wish to hear. Just like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly simple to imagine Super Medicham captivating an whole open area with their stories. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its capacity to predict an opponent's next moves, which seems very similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
Cancer – Super Manectric
The Crab is commonly regarded as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a intense sign famous for frequently getting absorbed in their feelings. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer crash-out. This Pokémon is also recognized for its ability to create a storm cloud over its very self – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s spoil their good time.
The Lion – Super Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Aside from the reality that it would be much too obvious, The Lion is clearly Mega Starmie, the diva whose gams just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your taste). Players couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion brings to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be broadcasting signals from its center out into space, and it’s typical of a Lion to be putting on a performance, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly critical is strongly reflected throughout this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked expression like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a 401(k), to its upside-down visage that’s similar to the symbol a Maiden posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than creating a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Look at this gentle, sensitive creature, who employs the sensors on its auditory organs to tell how people are feeling by their pulse. Always empathetic – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are many Scales who would probably appreciate Super Audino's abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them worry even more about others.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly sad backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and swore retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems precisely like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpion adores karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly staging a show. Being a Archer personally, the number of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to foresee calamities in advance? That gives the exact same energy as a Goat, who tends to consistently believe they’re correct. The thing is, similar to a prophetic Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame placement that is most like a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s dual Spirit/Flame typing fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Super Form's description says it “draws in negative energy and transforms it into power.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
