NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage includes live text for Sunday's games on various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on select stations for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six in the NFL season , following recent talk about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking in those games were the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they essentially beat themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this weekend.
However it was good to see that Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have the shortfall before direct three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the victory 21-17.
Denver boast the top defender with cornerback their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that contest.
They executed the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending more than four defenders but they might position two linebackers in the interior before withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.
Early on of the season, it was noted during a show that the Broncos might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?
New tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and new RB their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks 5th in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).
I love that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.
This demonstrates how Denver are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush and keeps you in positive down and distances.
It's also benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional arm talent, which is different, and he's highly agile.
His assets are his mobility, being able to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle and past defenders.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack whenever possible and can pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.
When you consistently run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the defence to stay in play for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defence must cover the area vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.
The quarterback has bitten back at Payton on the sideline at times and I think Payton appreciates that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's exciting for the coach to coach a rookie QB who's similar to play-dough. He can really build something up the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.
The head coach owns a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing offensively is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids shape him what he is.
There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you through difficult moments and boost self-belief.
I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.
Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. The key to do is maintain this path.
They're really good at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.
Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.
It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
